The cooperative aims to create and maintain, for its members, through joint action and responsibility, good housing at affordable prices, with the exception of operations prohibited by the Federal Act on the Acquisition of Real Estate by Persons Abroad (LFAIE). It encourages forms of housing that best correspond to the interests of its inhabitants, as well as living together in a spirit of responsibility towards the general interest and mutual solidarity. The cooperative can offer spaces in its buildings for commercial and non-commercial services. It seeks to achieve this goal through:
a) the acquisition of building land and surface rights;
b) the construction and acquisition of individual and rental houses corresponding to the needs for modern cooperative housing;
c) careful and continuous maintenance as well as periodic renovation of existing buildings;
d) the construction of replacement buildings when existing properties can no longer be renovated in an economically and defensible manner;
e) the use of incentives in accordance with the federal housing act or corresponding cantonal and municipal laws;
f) the administration and rental of housing based on cost-price rents;
g) the construction of housing and individual houses for sale in property by floors or in surface rights;
h) the promotion of an ecological, individual and collective awareness;
i) the conceptual and material support of initiatives aiming at high-quality and valuable housing;
j) the promotion of soft mobility with, in particular, the limitation of the number of individual cars;
k) fostering contact among its inhabitants while respecting the private spheres of each of its members.
The activity of the cooperative is of public utility and does not aim at profits. The cooperative can participate in enterprises and organizations with the same objectives or similar purposes. It can be a member of Swiss Housing Cooperatives, the federation of public utility developers.
