Through the joint action and shared responsibility of its members, the cooperative aims to provide its members with self-managed and communal living spaces at moderate rents, and to preserve them, while durably protecting these homes from speculation. It promotes communal living in the sense of a comprehensive civil responsibility and mutual solidarity. The cooperative encourages forms of housing that best correspond to the interests of the residents, particularly with regard to legal status, co-management, various uses of certain premises, architecture, and comfort. It takes into account, as far as possible and in the spirit of integrated housing, people experiencing particular difficulties in the housing market. It seeks to achieve this goal as follows: a) acquisition of land for construction and surface rights; b) construction and acquisition of single-family homes and rental buildings that meet the current housing needs of a cooperative; c) careful maintenance and content, periodic renovation of existing buildings; d) implementation of complete reconstructions if existing buildings can no longer be renovated profitably; e) use of support instruments in accordance with federal, cantonal, or municipal laws encouraging the construction of moderate-rent or price-controlled housing; f) administration and rental of housing in accordance with the principle of cost-covering rents; g) support for the initiative of its members to animate the cultural life of the region and encourage them to participate. h) promotion of an ecobiological awareness, both individual and collective. i) by promoting renovations and improvements aimed at energy savings and using environmentally friendly materials; j) by promoting community life while respecting the private spheres of each of its members. k) by duly taking into account ecological aspects when choosing the location and solutions in terms of construction and maintenance. The activity of the cooperative is of public utility and does not pursue any profit-making purpose. The cooperative may participate in enterprises pursuing identical or similar purposes and acquire the status of member in the umbrella organizations of public utility housing cooperatives.
