The foundation aims to meet the social needs in the canton of Basel-Stadt. To this end, it may, for example, operate children's day-care centers. It sets up one or more lunch tables as needed. It promotes the social and linguistic integration of foreigners, especially children and young people, for example through homework help for foreign children, leisure activities for young people and similar activities. It supports families, single parents and those in need and promotes social contact for lonely people. The foundation can rent, acquire or sell properties and take out loans.
