The Metaverse is in its early stages of development and comprises various digital worlds, whose digital assets cannot be easily transferred between the different worlds. This lack of compatibility between Metaverses hinders the scaling and monetization of digital assets and leads to redundancies between the different Metaverses. For this reason, it is necessary to establish common metadata standards that enable the compatible transfer of digital assets and compensation for the creation of such assets. Species represent a category of such assets that can be standardized for the Metaverse. Assets in the form of species are based on real information sources, are frequently created, and repeatedly appear in virtual worlds. The goal of such standardization can be achieved by creating a decentralized tokenomics ecosystem that incentivizes co-developers to define and develop a standardized digital asset repository in the form of species. Standardization must be supported by the introduction of decentralized governance methodologies that bring the stakeholders of such an ecosystem into harmony: the developers, the digital worlds that adopt such standards (Adopting Worlds), and the token holders. The purpose of the foundation, a non-profit organization, is to create, test, and manage these technical and other standards. This is particularly with the goal of mapping all types of species in digital form, so that a uniform and standardized repository is created that can be used by every single Metaverse, every computer game, and every platform. To this end, the foundation can: a) receive and make grants and participate in companies and other institutions in Switzerland and abroad. b) create, receive, store, and sell distributed ledger-based digital tokens and other means; c) develop, support, and expand technical and other standards for species in virtual worlds, as well as contact and engage with authorities or third parties to promote the development and marketing of such standards; d) develop, support, and expand governance systems to involve the Metaverse and the participants of the ecosystems surrounding the Metaverse and the foundation in the definition of species designs based on the standards defined by the foundation; e) develop, support, and expand governance systems, in particular decentralized autonomous organizations, to enable the formation of opinions for the definition of species designs and other matters; f) receive, acquire, hold, or grant intellectual property rights and license rights of all kinds; g) conduct and promote all business and/or participate in all transactions, and in general, take all actions and things that are necessary, appropriate, related, or desirable to achieve or promote the goals described here.
