The association aims to build, strengthen and maintain Tamil culture, language and religion, as well as provide spiritual care; to establish and maintain a publicly accessible temple under the name 'Sri Sivasubramaniar Temple - Zurich' in central Switzerland for believers of Tamil Hindu culture living in Switzerland; to provide spiritual and material assistance to people suffering or disabled by the civil war in northern and eastern Sri Lanka or by natural disasters in Sri Lanka, with whom the association members are connected through Tamil culture; to maintain a library that promotes the religious education of the Tamil population about Hinduism; to maintain contact and cooperation with other cultural and religious institutions and individuals in Switzerland and Sri Lanka. The association can support other religious projects; support projects that promote Tamil culture; support projects that aim to bring Tamil culture closer to the non-Tamil population in Switzerland and thus promote intercultural exchange. The association has a non-profit character and does not pursue any commercial purpose. The association can acquire, encumber, sell and manage real estate. It can also provide financing for its own or third-party account and provide securities for liabilities of affiliated foundations or companies.
