The foundation provides financial support in five areas related to the military, civil defense, and blue light organizations (police, health, fire department): (1.) Affected individuals and their families: The foundation supports members of the armed forces, civil defense, or blue light organizations who are dependent on third-party assistance, primarily from the cantons of Basel-Stadt or Basel-Landschaft, who have fallen ill or been injured in the course of their duty or as a result of it, or at events related to but outside of their duty, and who have thereby fallen into financial difficulties. The foundation may also support family members of members of the armed forces, civil defense, and blue light organizations who have fallen into financial difficulties as a result of the death of the aforementioned. Family members also include close relatives, life partners, and their descendants. (2.) Health promotion and prevention: The foundation aims to promote health, particularly through preventive measures, in the areas of the military, civil defense, and blue light organizations. In this context, events and projects in this area, primarily in the cantons of Basel-Stadt and Basel-Landschaft, are to be supported by public or private organizations. (3.) Recognition: The foundation aims to support organizations in order to honor members of the armed forces, civil defense, or blue light organizations. (4.) Historical: The foundation aims to support the creation, preservation, publication, or performance of historical works or cultural assets in the areas of the military, civil defense, and blue light organizations. (5.) Social and charitable: The foundation aims to support institutions with similar purposes, as well as charitable and social engagements of members of the armed forces, civil defense, or blue light organizations. The potential beneficiaries of the foundation have no legal claim to support.
