The 417 Expectation Failed Foundation pursues the purpose of promoting, mediating and documenting network-based, contemporary and socially critical art as well as its networks. The foundation's activities and grants are aimed at national, international and interdisciplinary artistic projects, as well as initiatives by exhibition spaces, online platforms, curators, artists and art collectives that deal with the possibilities of contemporary, networked technologies in art production and explore their significance for society. This is also achieved through the development of software and other products that benefit digital culture and serve the foundation's purpose. The foundation particularly supports result-open, experimental and process-oriented formats. The foundation's purpose is realized through both promotional and operational activities. The promotional activity is defined in detail in the funding regulations. The foundation is exclusively non-profit and does not pursue any commercial or self-help purposes. The organs are active on a voluntary basis. The foundation may employ a management and further employees to achieve its purpose.
