The foundation's purpose specifically includes the collection of works by Swiss artists in the field of visual arts (where the term 'Swiss' is broadly defined to include nationality, place of activity, and other connecting factors), the maintenance, storage, and upkeep of the collected works, the presentation of the works in permanent or temporary exhibitions, the promotion of contemporary artists through contributions to their work and the awarding of a prize or through other suitable means. May provide contributions to other foundations and organizations that pursue the aforementioned purpose or are active in these areas, as well as lend objects. To a limited extent, works by international artists may also be integrated into the collection. However, the focus should remain on Swiss art.
