The foundation's purpose is to own and maintain the attic at Laubeggstrasse 49 in Bern, where the writer and painter Friedrich Dürrenmatt spent his years of study. This is intended to permanently secure the frescoes in the attic, an important early work by Dürrenmatt. Furthermore, the foundation aims to make the attic room available to external persons working in the cultural field at a relatively low price for a limited stay. In addition, the foundation intends to undertake actions to promote Swiss literature and theatre creation as well as visual arts within the framework of its financial possibilities. The apartment in the attic, which is also owned by the foundation, serves to financially secure the foundation's purpose. The foundation is primarily active in the canton of Bern within the framework of its purpose. The foundation's profits and capital are exclusively dedicated to the aforementioned purpose. Commercial purposes are excluded.
