The foundation aims to promote the identity of the residents with the old municipal area (current district 6) in cultural (local museum, local archive, etc.) and social terms. It is a non-profit organization. The foundation can conduct all business and conclude contracts that are suitable to promote the purpose of the foundation or are directly or indirectly related to it. The foundation can acquire, sell or encumber properties in the old municipal area (current district 6). The foundation works together with organizations of public and private law based in district 6 (Bümpliz/Bethlehem/Bottigen/Riedbach). If the necessary capital can be raised in accordance with Article 3, paragraph 3, the foundation intends to acquire the buildings currently standing on parcel Bern 6-Land Register No. 650 from the City of Bern, conclude a building rights contract with the City of Bern regarding the aforementioned parcel, and renovate or rebuild the buildings.
