Enabling the establishment of an institute and the creation of a professorship for Jewish Studies at the University of Basel through partial financing. Furthermore, supporting the development of an interdisciplinary curriculum "Jewish Studies", financing teaching assignments within the framework of the Institute for Jewish Studies at the University of Basel, financing the position of a scientific employee at the Institute for Jewish Studies at the University of Basel, and promoting all activities of the Institute for Jewish Studies at the University of Basel. Additionally, supporting, promoting, and financing any activities outside the Institute for Jewish Studies and outside the University of Basel, whether in Basel or elsewhere in Switzerland, which promote teaching and research in the field of Jewish Studies and the dissemination of knowledge about Judaic studies, where possible also with a suitable broad impact, including the promotion of publications in the field of Judaic studies. Promoting activities of interreligious, particularly Christian-Jewish, dialogue, as well as maintaining external and international contacts of the Institute for Jewish Studies of the University of Basel with other universities, research institutes, publication organs, etc. and individuals in the field of Judaic studies.
