The foundation aims to promote public awareness in Switzerland through its own content and technical development, as well as public events in the fields of astronomy, astrophysics, cosmology, chemistry, physics, geosciences, and microbiology. This is intended to make the connections of the planet Earth tangible from a public perspective. Experience, not just knowledge, is also intended to support the democratic opinion-forming process in the sense of transdisciplinarity and reduce the distance between the population and official work. The foundation develops both the mediated content and innovative technology to support experiential opportunities. The developed hardware and software remain the property of the foundation. Experiments and demonstrations are intended to make science, applied science, and technology tangible to active participants. The foundation has a non-profit character, does not pursue any commercial purpose, and does not strive for profit. If the inclusion of other sciences is deemed sensible for achieving the purpose, the foundation council can decide on this, provided that this decision also opens up supplementary experiential opportunities within the framework of a natural scientific system dynamics. The focus is on experiential opportunities outdoors in nature, rather than on pure knowledge transfer in seminar rooms. In this sense, the founders reserve the right, based on Art. 86a of the Swiss Civil Code and in compliance with the legal requirements, to expand the purpose of the foundation. The foundation concludes contracts and agreements with public-law corporations to plan and implement public events, e.g. with cantons, municipalities, and corporations.
