The foundation aims to ensure high-quality, coordinated and needs-based healthcare for children and adolescents in the Biel-Seeland-Berner Jura region and its catchment area. This purpose is achieved in particular through the promotion and support of pediatric medicine at the Wildermeth Children's Clinic of the Spitalzentrum Biel AG. This includes, among other things, financial support for operations, the creation of target-group-oriented infrastructure, the training and further education of necessary specialists, as well as research promotion. The foundation can acquire real estate or participate in real estate companies, in particular to secure premises for the fulfillment of its tasks. For this purpose, the foundation can participate in the costs for the new construction of such premises. The foundation has a non-profit character and does not pursue any commercial purposes. Profits and capital are exclusively dedicated to the aforementioned purpose. If a public-law corporation is legally obliged to provide similar services to those of the foundation, the services of the foundation are subsidiary.
