The foundation promotes the Kolping idea and the efforts of the Kolping Association Bern (Kolping Bern). The foundation manages the Kolpinghaus at Mattenhofstrasse 32 in 3007 Bern. The foundation provides people with low incomes with affordable housing. The foundation makes the premises on the ground floor and basement (including infrastructure such as kitchen, office cupboards, room for management and archiving, etc.) of the Kolpinghaus available to Kolping Bern free of charge for its activities. The foundation rents out the premises on the ground floor and basement for charitable purposes. The Kolpinghaus Bern Foundation supports projects of Kolping Switzerland and the international Kolpingwerk or other charitable projects and organizations with financial contributions using the generated income. The foundation has a non-profit character, does not pursue any commercial purposes and does not aim to make a profit. The foundation can merge with other tax-exempt foundations based in Switzerland with the same or similar objectives. Priority is given to foundations with the 'Kolping idea'.
