The Foundation for Public Participation Switzerland advocates for the qualitative improvement of public participation to strengthen trust in direct democracy and promote social cohesion. It supports authorities in conducting participatory processes effectively and for the benefit of the general public, free from partisan influences. In collaboration with scientific institutions, the foundation promotes the development and application of innovative methods of public participation. The main goal is to empower decision-makers within the broader context of participation activities to design public participation initiatives with societal added value. These participatory processes are evaluated on a scientific basis and certified with a quality label that ensures comparable standards in implementation and outcome quality. The foundation pursues exclusively charitable purposes. It has no commercial objectives nor does it seek to make a profit. It may participate in companies and other legal entities to fulfill its purposes. A subsequent change of purpose without impairing the charitable status according to Art. 86a of the Swiss Civil Code is expressly reserved.
