The foundation aims to contribute to the preservation, improvement and promotion of the overall appearance of Steckborn by supporting the efforts of the municipal council, the Department of Construction and Environment of the Canton of Thurgau and other bodies, which they undertake in fulfillment of their statutory mandate to preserve and promote the Steckborn townscape of national importance, which is under federal protection; maintains and promotes existing plans, writings and documents, so that they are available as a basis for the further development of the entire townscape; contributes to the protection of cultural assets in Steckborn; builds up and continues a documentation on the townscape of Steckborn. Within the framework of the foundation's purpose, the foundation can make contributions to projects for the preservation and improvement of the townscape; events in the sense of good design of the townscape; the maintenance, preservation and professional restoration of historic buildings; the research of the city history.
