Stiftung Phenduka Literacy Center

The core activity of Phenduka Literacy is to promote the reading skills of children in disadvantaged primary schools in South Africa through a special literacy program that combines phonetic and culturally oriented approaches. This includes training teachers in effective methods of reading and writing instruction, as well as direct work with students in classes with specially trained staff to improve their reading skills in a short period of time.
