The foundation's purpose is: to preserve biodiversity, protect habitats, conserve and promote living water through preventive measures, eliminate grievances, conduct investigations and assessments, replace depleted or reduced fish stocks, ensure sustainable use of native fish populations, and promote professional and recreational fishing as well as fisheries research in accordance with Art. 1 lit. a) to e) of the Bern Cantonal Fishing Act of June 21, 1995 (BSG 923.11) and in accordance with Art. 1 lit. a) to d) of the Federal Act on Fisheries of June 21, 1991 (SR 923.0); protect the waters of the canton of Bern from sustainable impacts in accordance with Art. 1 lit. a) to h) of the Federal Act on the Protection of Waters (SR 814.20); support related organizations in pursuing the aforementioned foundation purposes. The foundation operates within the canton of Bern in pursuit of its purpose. The foundation's profits and capital are exclusively dedicated to the aforementioned purpose. The foundation has a non-profit character and does not pursue any commercial purpose. Commercial purposes are therefore excluded.
