The foundation aims to promote and finance medical research in general in Switzerland and worldwide; to promote and finance innovative, sustainable, analogue or digital solutions to improve the quality of life of people in Switzerland; to promote and finance quality assurance (quality development) in medicine; and to promote and finance education, further education and training in healthcare professions in Switzerland and worldwide. The foundation can collaborate with third parties, such as manufacturers or suppliers of medicines or medical products, or with other industrial partners in the healthcare sector, on projects and measures; it can conclude agreements on quality promotion with health insurers and implement quality promotion measures in the Hirslanden private clinic group. To these ends, the foundation supports institutions and employees of the Hirslanden private clinic group, as well as partner physicians of the Hirslanden private clinic group. Additionally, the foundation may also benefit other organisations or studies closely related to the Hirslanden private clinic group. The promotion and financing can relate to natural and legal persons and include both one-time contributions and recurring support. The foundation can employ staff, acquire properties and other assets, and carry out all activities suitable for achieving the foundation's purpose. The foundation does not pursue commercial purposes and does not aim to make a profit. If a profit is generated, it shall be fully allocated to the foundation's capital.
