The foundation aims to preserve the historical heritage of the Bern-Solothurn regional transport (RBS) and its predecessor railways, and to communicate this to the public. To this end, the foundation can, for example, operate historical vehicles, collect items, establish an archive, organize exhibitions and guided tours, and publish publications. The historical vehicles contributed by the founders to the foundation and further donated historical vehicles should be maintained and restored in such a way that they can be presented to the public and, if possible, be operational. The historical substance should be preserved as much as possible. The foundation can undertake all transactions that are suitable for achieving the purpose. The foundation does not pursue commercial purposes and does not aim to make a profit. Any ancillary activities it undertakes are exclusively for the achievement of the main purpose. The foundation has a charitable character. The founders expressly reserve the right, pursuant to Art. 86a of the Swiss Civil Code and in observance of the legal requirements, to amend the purpose of the foundation as well as its organization.
