The foundation aims to enable and support outcome research in the field of ovarian carcinomas, specifically Müller's mixed tumors, in order to improve the prognosis of affected patients and avoid outcomes like those of the foundation's namesake. To achieve this purpose, the foundation awards the «Renate Schultze Prize» every three years, in the amount of CHF 30,000 (thirty thousand Swiss francs). The prize is awarded at the annual continuing education event of the «Swiss Society for Gynecology and Obstetrics» for works that make a substantial contribution to the understanding of the biology of MMMT-O or for groundbreaking advances in the development of therapeutic options. The institution where the prize winner works is expected to receive financial support for MMMT-O research for the three calendar years following the award. The foundation board is free to waive such financial support; it can also support other institutions within the purpose of the foundation, in addition to or instead of this financial support. The works and underlying research can be conducted in Switzerland or internationally and can be submitted. The foundation has a non-profit character, is not profit-oriented, and does not pursue any commercial or self-help purposes. The provision of services, in any form, to the founder, their family, or related persons is excluded. The granting of «matching grants» is possible without the other donor having a say or voting rights.
