The Thurgau Animal Welfare Centre Foundation advocates for the interests of animals and animal welfare. It establishes an animal shelter for animals in need, primarily for the Thurgau animal welfare associations. The foundation operates and supports the animal shelter. The foundation carries out public relations and educational work and advocates for species-appropriate animal husbandry. The purpose of the foundation can be fulfilled, among other things, by: (a) Acquiring land and building or renovating a property suitable for the purpose. (b) Operating the animal shelter through a managing director and employees for animal care, as well as volunteers and honorary helpers. (c) Offering courses, seminars, training sessions, guided tours, consultations, and other purposeful projects. (d) Supporting other non-profit foundations and associations with similar purposes. The foundation does not pursue any commercial or self-help purposes and does not strive for profit. The purpose of the foundation can be changed by the founders in accordance with Art. 86a of the Swiss Civil Code through the competent authority. The changed purpose must also be non-profit.
