The purpose of the foundation is to support projects of the association Swiss Sponsorship for Mountain Communities (CHE-100.438.489), based in Zurich, particularly projects in the cantons of Glarus and Ticino. The foundation shall support projects that have been clarified by the honorary experts and board members of the Swiss Sponsorship for Mountain Communities and deemed worthy of support by the overall board of the Swiss Sponsorship for Mountain Communities. Should the support of the association Swiss Sponsorship for Mountain Communities no longer be possible in the future, because the association has been dissolved or merged, or is in the process of liquidation, the purpose of the foundation is described as follows: a. The purpose of the foundation is to provide assistance to needy communities in the Swiss mountain region (Alps and Jura) with a focus on Glarus and Ticino in solving their tasks, particularly in the area of infrastructure, financially or in other ways. Within the same framework, assistance can be provided to cooperatives, corporations, and other carriers of public, non-profit, or social functions; b. The support of families and individuals in need in such communities, to the extent that other aid organizations do not provide sufficient services. The foundation has a non-profit character and does not pursue any commercial or self-help purposes.
