The foundation aims to support projects in the fields of arts and science/research. This support is provided in particular through the allocation of financial contributions to individuals or institutions in Switzerland and includes: (1) one-time award of a prize in the form of a cash prize; (2) one-time support contribution to a person or institution in the field of art or science/research; (3) annual financial support for a project in the field of arts or science/research over a certain period of time; (4) support for initial, further and continuing education in the field of arts or science/research; (5) support for initial training leading to a career in the field of arts or science/research. For the aforementioned purpose, the foundation may also acquire art objects. Subject to paragraph 2, the foundation does not pursue any commercial or self-help purposes. It is authorized to establish further foundations in Switzerland and abroad within the scope of its purpose and to pursue joint projects with domestic and foreign foundations with similar purposes.
