The Chamber understands itself as a non-profit institutional economic association or as an economic association, but it seeks a sustainable economically balanced account. The purpose of the Chamber is to promote worldwide the economic relations and economic interests of Switzerland. To fulfill this purpose, the Chamber maintains close contacts with the relevant authorities and institutions at home and abroad, with economic associations, industrial and commercial enterprises, banks, financial institutions, and international economic organizations; mediates in disputes; makes itself available as a conciliation body; can provide information or inform the public directly about all areas of economic relations between Switzerland and all countries; and submits reports and expert opinions of a trade and economic policy nature. The Chamber represents the common interests of its members, promotes the exchange of experience among its members to achieve high quality standards and increased efficiency, takes a position on issues of foreign economic policy, promotes the awareness of private economic foreign trade organizations in administrations, governments, and a broader public. The Chamber can create and publish press releases and/or other publications or issue them. Internet presence is permitted. The Chamber refrains from any political or denominational and religious activities. Furthermore, it does not conduct any commercial transactions itself, nor does it participate with its own funds in the financing of economic, industrial, or other commercial projects. However, the Chamber can act exclusively and solely for its members and their project partners in a mandated and advisory capacity for economic, industrial, or other commercial projects and transactions, and as an advisor, financial engineer, project manager, coordinator, trustee, and/or administrator, monitor and manage the financial and economic aspects as well as the monetary flows of the projects to ensure their realization, if desired by the members and their project partners. The Chamber explicitly and unequivocally does not understand itself as a financial service provider. Accordingly, the following activities are neither exercised nor provided: buying and selling financial instruments, receiving and forwarding orders including distribution, asset management, asset consulting, granting loans for transactions in financial instruments.
