1. The association aims to strengthen communication, exchange and mutual understanding in the fields of parliamentary, economic, scientific, technological, cultural and tourism cooperation between Switzerland and the People's Republic of China (PRC) and certain neighboring countries, to encourage international exchange and contacts around the new Silk Road, and to connect financial institutions with potential commercial partners as an intermediary. This should have the effect of strengthening understanding and relations between these countries in the mentioned fields. 2. Although its objective is largely commercial (bringing together economic and scientific leaders from both countries and possibly neighboring countries), it is planned to address broader facets of this relationship within the association, including parliamentary, scientific and cultural aspects. 3. To this end, the association plans to organize and support various types of events, including thematic conferences and round tables, training sessions, cultural events, visits, meetings, exhibitions, performances, etc., to contribute to the development of good political understanding, as well as good economic, scientific, technological and cultural relations between Switzerland and China (PRC). 4. Furthermore, the association will serve as a platform to offer services to its members, such as organizing a week of culture, science and technology, facilitating technology transfer, applying and trading intellectual property, as well as participating in international scientific and technological exhibitions. 5. Part of the use of SC-WSRA resources may be used for educational purposes, to promote the development of entrepreneurial skills in scientific and technological research.
