The aim of the SSLA is to bring together the Sri Lankan community in Switzerland to promote Sri Lankan culture for the benefit of its members and all other Sri Lankans living in Switzerland; the SSLA promotes the well-being of all Sri Lankan women and men in Switzerland through its members and with the help of private and public institutions as well as the Consulate General of Sri Lanka in Geneva and the Swiss authorities; the SSLA provides material and financial assistance to needy Sri Lankan women and men in Switzerland and to organizations and communities in Sri Lanka that carry out important social and development work in cities and rural areas; the SSLA promotes understanding and integration between the Swiss and Sri Lankan communities in Switzerland; the association also promotes cooperation and good relations with other non-Swiss communities in Switzerland. The SSLA organizes cultural events and activities, including music and entertainment, sports, theater, language and education, for the benefit of its members and their families as well as non-members and their families. The SSLA supports individuals and communities with special needs in Sri Lanka and works financially and in other ways with organizations in Sri Lanka that are committed to the welfare and development of communities.
