The association aims to operate and further develop a national database for the dosing of medications in children (shortly «Pediatric Medication Database») in order to contribute to medication safety in children. The operation of the Pediatric Medication Database is based on a national consensus of the association's members, namely the eight largest children's hospitals in Switzerland (represented by the Chief Physicians' College «Collège A»), the Swiss Association of Public and Hospital Pharmacists (GSASA), and the Swiss Society of Pediatrics (SGP). To pursue its purpose, the association participates in the tender for the operation and further development of the Pediatric Medication Database of the Federal Office of Public Health (FOPH). The association does not pursue any commercial purposes and does not strive for profit.
