Objectives of the International Tribology Council: Maintaining a living and continuous contact between tribology and related societies and groups worldwide; Facilitating the mutual information of tribology and related societies and groups about their activities, particularly their future programs; Ensuring that their international congresses are held at agreed intervals, with the organization of these congresses being taken over by the respective host society(s); Facilitating the exchange of views, comments, and opinions on tribological topics between member societies and groups; Advising and supporting the establishment of tribology societies in countries where such societies do not yet exist, if desired; Supporting international cooperation in matters of tribology science, technology, and education; Providing information on important topics, events, and projects in the field of tribology that originate from member societies and are relevant to them; Carrying out other measures in the field of science, technology, and education in the field of tribology, whether in pure or applied form, which are desired by at least three-quarters of all member societies.
