The association aims to promote the human right and fundamental freedom of capable adults to make a self-determined decision about their life and death, as enshrined in Article 8 of the European Convention on Human Rights. The association intends to achieve this purpose by: Supporting capable adults (whether members or not) in making informed, well-considered decisions about their life and death by providing relevant information, advice, counseling, and expertise; Supporting the enabling of a self-determined death by professionals in a professional manner and in accordance with the principles of the association and within the Swiss legal order; Promoting public awareness of the principles of assisted dying; Supporting and promoting the efforts of others who, in the opinion of the association, serve the realization of the association's purpose; Preventing desperate suicides by strengthening the personality rights, autonomy, and decision-making capacity of members and non-members at the end of life. The association's profits and capital are used exclusively for the aforementioned purpose. Economic purposes are excluded and no profit is sought.
