The WLMO, as a collaboration between national lifestyle medicine societies around the world and regional lifestyle medicine organizations, has as its primary goal the global eradication of non-communicable, lifestyle-related chronic diseases through evidence-based, sustainable lifestyle behavior change. The WLMO also pursues the following goals: to serve as a unifying force for lifestyle medicine organizations worldwide; to enable global sharing of evidence-based best practices and educational resources, including accreditation of lifestyle medicine courses worldwide; to leverage public relations efforts; to develop opportunities for synergistic collaboration; to become the accrediting body for lifestyle medicine education worldwide; and to create an administrative function to enable the achievement of its goals. The WLMO will also advocate for global and national policies to address societal, environmental, and other determinants of poor health and disease.
