The foundation aims to promote animal and species protection by launching, promoting and supporting corresponding projects and animal shelters in Switzerland and abroad. It can take all measures that may be directly or indirectly useful for this purpose. Except for the launch of its own projects, the purpose is achieved through direct payments to individuals, organizations or institutions responsible for animal welfare projects, as well as through direct payments to animal shelters. Direct payments for projects abroad may not exceed 25% of the freely available foundation assets that can be used in a year over a period of three years. Payments to cantonal and national animal welfare organizations, such as WWF or their successors, foreign animal welfare organizations, and zoological gardens are not permitted. The foundation does not pursue self-help or commercial purposes and does not aim to make a profit.
