The association aims to: strengthen mutual trust, friendship and good neighbourliness between the countries of the contracting parties; preserve peace and maintain the historical and cultural heritage in the region and in the world as a whole; seek common positions on scientific and cultural research issues of mutual interest, also within the framework of international organisations; coordinate measures to support the achievement of carbon neutrality by 2060; promote effective regional and bilateral cooperation in the fields of environment, culture, science and technology, education, tourism and history, as well as in other areas of common interest; create favourable conditions for interaction in the fields of science, education, culture, environment and tourism; strive for comprehensive social and cultural development through joint actions based on equal partnership, in order to constantly raise the awareness of the peoples of the contracting parties; expand interaction in the fields of science and technology, education, culture, sports and tourism; promote cooperation between the mass media and communication of the contracting parties in promoting, popularising and disseminating the great cultural and historical heritage of the Turkic peoples; discuss issues of exchange of scientists, teachers and researchers and strengthen cooperation between the geographical societies of the Turkic-speaking states.
