The cooperative is non-profit and does not pursue any commercial purpose. It is politically and denominationally neutral. Its purpose is to provide its members with modern and affordable housing. In doing so, preference is given to multi-family and single-family homes in suitable locations and areas for settlement construction. The cooperative can offer rooms for commercial services in its buildings. The cooperative achieves its purpose through a) the purchase of land and the construction of solid, purposeful residential buildings, i.e. multi-family and single-family homes, senior apartments, condominiums, and the construction of residential buildings under building rights; b) the possible purchase of existing buildings and their renovation; c) careful and ongoing maintenance and periodic renewal of existing buildings; d) the construction of replacement new buildings when existing buildings can no longer be renovated in an economically justifiable manner. The rental of cooperative apartments is generally only to cooperative members. Members are required to live in the apartments they rent and have their civil law domicile there. Subletting a whole or part of an apartment or individual rooms is only permitted with the prior consent of the board of directors. The board of directors may refuse consent to a corresponding request for the reasons stated in Article 262, paragraph 2 of the Swiss Code of Obligations.
