Promotion of the amateur radio service (as defined by the ITU Radio Regulations) on all frequency bands allocated to it and in all permitted transmission modes, defends the interests of the amateur radio service and its licensees, particularly with regard to the preservation and expansion of frequency bands, the installation of outdoor antennas and problems arising from inadequate electromagnetic compatibility (EMC), defends the interests of other groups of radio communication users, particularly shortwave listeners (SWL) and listening amateurs, promotes the 'ham spirit' among its members through suitable measures, promotes the formation of regional and technical sections, supports the historical, cultural and intangible aspects of amateur radio, promotes the technical knowledge of its members through training and further education, through courses, conferences and the like, coordinates and supports efforts to fascinate young people with technical and scientific activities, particularly in the field of radio communication and related fields, coordinates and supports the implementation of training events related to amateur radio, particularly the training of new radio amateurs, supports scientific and technical institutions through observations and experiments, is a member of the International Amateur Radio Union (IARU) and represents the interests of Swiss radio amateurs within it, supports the population and authorities in emergency situations, particularly in the event of a failure of communication infrastructure, organizes competitions, awards diplomas and mediates QSL cards, publishes a club organ, promotes and conducts public relations work, can cooperate with other amateur radio organizations in Switzerland and abroad and entrust special task groups with specific tasks, can become a member of other organizations if this is expedient for the protection of the interests of Swiss amateur radio.
