The foundation's purpose is to support and promote institutions, individuals, and projects in Switzerland and abroad that pursue charitable, humanitarian, educational, cultural, scientific, or artistic goals in a non-profit manner. The foundation can also provide direct support to individuals or carry out its own projects in these areas; support and promote non-profit endeavors of any kind, particularly in the field of public welfare (such as cultural and monument preservation; education and training projects; care for needy and deserving young people, the elderly, and the disabled; establishment of hospitals and homes, as well as other projects in the healthcare sector; scientific teaching and research; development aid; conservation of the natural environment). The foundation is active internationally in accordance with its purpose. The foundation can collaborate with other organizations, regardless of their legal form, if this serves the foundation's purpose. The beneficiaries mentioned in this article have no legal claim to the foundation's assets. Grants within the scope of the foundation's purpose are determined exclusively by the foundation board. The board can write more detailed regulations on the implementation of the foundation's purpose in a bylaw. The foundation does not pursue any commercial or self-help purposes.
