VAREX advocates for the acceptance, recycling, and environmentally responsible disposal of end-of-life and accident vehicles, as well as the recovery of tires and scrap metals. Furthermore, VAREX engages in the purchase and export of used and accident vehicles, scrap metals, and tires, both in Switzerland and abroad. The association aims to represent the overall interests of vehicle collection point holders and recyclers in Switzerland, particularly in the areas of self-help and defense against unfair competition. It protects and represents the economic, legal, and social interests of its members against authorities and public and private organizations; in particular, it represents the common interests regarding new legislative proposals from the federal government and cantons that affect the activities of vehicle collection point holders, exporters, and recyclers. VAREX also promotes the creation of market advantages for its members by working to improve their competitiveness and framework conditions. It pursues the reputation of the profession in all directions, especially in terms of vocational training.
