The association represents the interests of its members at national and international level. The association is politically and denominationally neutral. In particular, it aims to: safeguard and promote the interests of its members, particularly in legal and social matters; support its members in matters of statutory participation in accordance with the Participation Act of 17 December 1993 and other regulations; maintain and expand jobs in the electricity industry and improve working conditions; maintain and promote correct relationships between management and employee representatives; promote the right of employee representatives to participate and co-determine in the electricity industry; enable and promote the exchange of experiences among its members, including the organization of meetings of its members; represent its members externally as an umbrella organization at national and international level on overarching issues that do not specifically concern the interests of an individual member; establish and maintain a relevant documentation for the benefit of its members, including a documentation center for laws and agreements related to labor law issues; coordinate and promote the training and further education of employees of its members; represent the interests of its members in public hearings; protect the interests of the association, its members, and professional groups and individuals within the association and its members through association intervention; coordinate and support the work of employee delegates of the pension funds of its members; responsibly shape working conditions in the interest of the entire economy through cooperation with employers and their organizations, also in the form of agreements.
