The association aims to promote the general safety of people and values with technical systems that detect events early and prevent damage. A particular concern is their recognition by relevant regulatory authorities and insurance companies. The association promotes cooperation with regulatory authorities, trade associations, etc. on relevant industry issues as well as the quality idea and professional ethics among member companies. It also supports all technical and organizational measures for secure alarm transmission to fire departments, police stations, and private alarm receiving centers. The association seeks to achieve its purpose in particular by: 1. Standardizing relevant plant components, especially those for operation, signaling, and alarm transmission, in coordination with regulatory authorities and recognition bodies. 2. Procuring and evaluating information on the behavior and performance of security systems for building and property insurers, authorities, and other interested parties. 3. Promoting extinguishing methods that enable effective damage limitation with minimal environmental impact through pollutant emissions from fires and extinguishing agents. 4. Cooperating with authorities, insurance and loss prevention institutions, especially on issues of regulations and guidelines for the construction, testing, and reliable operation of security systems, as well as with specialized companies. 5. Cooperating with fire departments, police stations, network providers, and manufacturers of communication technology devices to create the conditions for secure automatic alarm transmission. 6. Representing the interests of the Swiss security industry in national and international bodies, particularly in matters of standardization, testing, and certification. 7. Providing a platform for specialized companies to optimally design customer-specific security concepts. 8. Representing industry interests vis-à-vis relevant associations and major clients (large banks, general contractors, large distributors, etc.). 9. Public relations work to enhance the reputation of the association and its members. Collection and publication of industry figures and market trends. 10. Conducting training in specialized fields. The SES does not pursue any commercial purposes. The SES can become a member of other national or international associations or organizations that pursue the same or similar purposes or whose activities promote those of the SES.
