The association pursues an idealistic purpose. To fulfill this purpose, it operates one or more daycare centers in the city of St.Gallen for the children of employees of the city and the canton of St.Gallen and possibly other employers in the city of St.Gallen. The daycare centers should be operated on a cost-covering basis. The goal of the founding members is to promote the compatibility of work and family life for women and men and thereby increase the proportion of women in the administrations and increase the family-friendliness of the participating employers. The association is politically independent and denominationally neutral. The daycare centers should be operated on a cost-covering basis. If full occupancy with children of employees of the city and the canton of St.Gallen is not possible, individual places can be made available to the public.
