Verein Basel Jazz Orchestra

The Basel Jazz Orchestra association aims to promote creative big band activities in Basel. On the one hand, as a professional band with a fixed lineup, and on the other hand, as a collective of composers; creating diverse programs through original compositions and commissioned works; genre-crossing collaborations with regional musicians and bands, soloists from home and abroad; cooperation between various cultural organizations. The goal is to build a professionally operating big band in Basel with concerts at home and abroad, the development of contemporary jazz, and the dissemination to a broad public. The association is non-profit, does not pursue any commercial purpose, and does not strive for profit.
