The purpose of the association is to promote professional, scientific, and practical cooperation among experts in the field of automotive technology, road traffic, and traffic safety, as well as to protect road users. The association pursues idealistic, non-profit purposes. The association supports affected individuals, particularly:
- after traffic accidents or vehicle collisions,
- in cases of unfair practices in vehicle trade (e.g., deception about technical condition, manipulation of technical data, concealment of significant defects).
The support is provided exclusively through:
- general technical, organizational, and factual information,
- presentation of typical processes and possible courses of action without individual case examination,
- expert assessment of the technical condition of vehicles,
- mediation to suitable, independent experts or institutions.
The association does not provide individual legal advice, legal services, or legally binding representation. The association achieves its purposes, in particular, through:
- training, seminars, specialist events, and conferences,
- prevention and educational work,
- analytical, research, and expert activities,
- cooperation with national and international organizations and public authorities,
- information and publication activities.
The association can carry out voluntary quality assessments, audits, and certifications of companies in the automotive and transport sector. The association can award quality standards, certificates, seals of approval, and recommendations and publicly inform about them, while respecting personality rights and applicable laws. The association can engage in subordinate economic activities, provided these exclusively serve the purpose of the association. The association can establish branches, representations, or other organizational units at home and abroad, provided this is in accordance with applicable legal provisions.
