The association implements parts of the agreement on a Swiss Commission for the Protection of Minors in Film, which was concluded on 26 October 2011 by the Conference of Cantonal Justice and Police Directors (KKJPD), the Swiss Association for Cinema and Film Distribution (ProCinema), the Swiss Video Association (SVV) and the Swiss Conference of Cantonal Education Directors (EDK), with effect from 1 January 2013. Based on this agreement, the association operates the Swiss Commission for the Protection of Minors in Film, which makes recommendations on the age of admission for public film screenings and audiovisual media for the cantons and the industry, and also informs the public about the aspects of youth protection in connection with film consumption. The association can also include audiovisual content that is transmitted in ways other than through public film screenings or audiovisual media, and can also recommend age ratings for these distribution and sales channels. To this end, it can form additional commissions with other partners, in parallel to the Swiss Commission for the Protection of Minors in Film.
