The foundation's purpose is to promote the global exchange of trade data by supporting the development and dissemination of an open-source, globally interoperable set of protocols called Verifiable.Trade. The goal is to overcome existing challenges in international trade - such as paper-based processes, digital barriers, and the lack of standardized solutions - and thereby increase inclusion and efficiency in trade. To this end, the foundation anchors the governance for the creation and further development of the protocols and creates an ecosystem that involves users, developers, and other stakeholders. This ecosystem forms the basis for open collaboration, innovation, and the creation of standards that can be applied worldwide. Governance ensures that the protocols are designed to be transparent, neutral, and non-profit, while the community drives operational success and continuous development. The foundation has no commercial purpose and is politically and denominationally neutral. Within the scope of its purpose, the foundation can take all permissible measures, in particular establish other legal entities or trusts, regardless of whether they have legal personality, establish branches or subsidiaries, merge with other foundations, take over the assets of other legal entities, cooperate with or manage other legal entities.
