The VFB promotes and supports the maintenance and expansion of the Furka mountain route between Oberwald (Canton of Valais) and Realp (Canton of Uri), as well as the predominantly historical railway operation and its maintenance. Within the framework of its purpose, the VFB supports and promotes the Furka Mountain Railway AG (DFB AG), the Furka Mountain Railway Foundation (SFB), and the Furka Mountain Railway Steam Locomotive Friends (DLF), among other things, through financial contributions, voluntary work, and advertising. Details on the nature and scope of this support and promotion, mutual representation on governing bodies, as well as mutual information rights and obligations are regulated by the organizations as needed. The VFB promotes cooperation between the sections. The VFB supports and maintains the public relations necessary for the Furka mountain route and historical railway operations. The VFB promotes and maintains relationships with other organizations at home and abroad with an interest in historic railways.
