The core activity of ViaStoria is the research, preservation and purposeful use of historical transportation routes in Switzerland. This includes in particular: the research and documentation of historical transportation routes; the preservation and restoration of historical transportation routes; the development of cultural routes and tourism projects based on historical transportation routes; the consulting and support of authorities, organizations and private individuals in the preservation and use of historical transportation routes; and the publication of research results and information on historical transportation routes in the form of journals, books and other media.
