The foundation provides occupational pension benefits, at least within the framework of the BVG and its implementing provisions. It protects the employees of the founder, Baloise Asset Management AG (BAM), the pension fund of Baloise Insurance AG, as well as their dependents and beneficiaries against the economic consequences of old age, death, and disability of the insured. It may cover the risks it bears, in whole or in part, with an insurance company, provided it is itself the policyholder and beneficiary. The foundation board is authorized to extend the circle of beneficiaries. It may connect employers who are economically or financially closely linked to the founding company through accession agreements or take over their pension institutions. The supervisory authority must be informed. In exceptional cases, and to avoid hardship, it may grant support to its active insured or pensioners. The foundation board issues regulations on benefits, financing, organization, asset management, and any additional regulations or implementing provisions. It regulates the relationships between the foundation and the affiliated employers, their insured employees, and the beneficiaries.
