Its purpose is to promote cultural activities in the fields of visual arts and music, support sick and needy people, promote the education and training of young people, and promote scientific research. In pursuing its purpose, the foundation can implement its own projects, as well as provide contributions to state-funded or tax-exempt institutions due to their public-benefit nature. It can award scholarships, research and training grants. The foundation is primarily active in Switzerland, but can also operate abroad, provided this is compatible with the foundation's purpose and public-benefit objectives. The foundation is politically and denominationally neutral. The circle of potential beneficiaries is open. It does not pursue any commercial or self-help purposes. The collaboration is based on public-benefit engagement.
