The foundation's purpose is: 1. To promote young musicians, exclusively in the classical genre, who have a connection to the Basel region. The foundation can provide grants for the education of musicians, instrument procurement and maintenance, and sheet music acquisition. It can also provide grants for the costs of rehearsal spaces and other support services. 2. To award music prizes to young musicians in the classical genre. The awards are intended to recognize outstanding musical achievements and promote musical activity. Prizes can be awarded to individuals or ensembles. The awarded musicians should have a connection to the Basel region. The foundation is non-profit and does not aim to make a profit.
