The foundation aims to provide financial support to institutions with charitable and non-profit purposes, as well as to disadvantaged, needy or sick individuals, primarily in the Basel region, on an exclusively non-profit basis. The foundation supports institutions that advocate for disadvantaged, elderly or sick people, or that implement specific projects to promote the well-being of people with intellectual disabilities, the homeless or mentally ill. Furthermore, socially active institutions that engage in the common good are to be promoted, for example institutions under the patronage of the 'GGG Society for the Good and Common Good Basel'. A portion of the available funds is also to be used for the benefit of the animal world; thus, institutions such as the Erlen Association, the Basel Zoo or the Animal Welfare Organization of Basel can be supported. There is no entitlement to services from the foundation.
